Text: Little Tom tells mom and dad about his plan. "I don't want to be a little boy in diapers anymore. But I need your help," says Tom. Mom and Dad are delighted and explain: "That's great, Tom. We'd love to help you and we already have an idea!"

Text: You explain to him that it is important to let him know in advance if he needs to go to the toilet. "Just say: I have to go to the potty. Then we'll know and can help you," explains mom. Tom is very happy that mom and dad want to help him.

This text should be in the book: Sie erklären ihm, dass es wichtig ist, vorher Bescheid zu sagen, wenn er auf Klo muss. "Sag einfach: Ich muss aufs Töpfchen. Dann wissen wir Bescheid und können dir helfen." erklärt Mama. Tom freut sich sehr, dass Papa und Mama ihm helfen wollen.

Text: Little Tom is about to tell his parents that he has to go to the toilet, but unfortunately it is already too late and his pants are wet. His mom comforts him and says that it's okay if it doesn't work the first time. She encourages him and says that it will work better next time.

This text should be in the book: Der kleine Tom möchte seinen Eltern gerade Bescheid sagen, dass er auf die Toilette muss, aber es ist leider schon zu spät und seine Hose ist nass. Seine Mama tröstet ihn und sagt, dass es okay ist, wenn es beim ersten Mal nicht funktioniert. Sie ermutigt ihn und meint, dass es beim nächsten Mal besser funktionieren wird.

Text: The next day, while Tom is playing with his building blocks, he notices that he has to go wee-wee. Tom goes to his parents and says: "I have to wee." His parents quickly fetch the potty and this time Tom manages to put his pee-pee in the potty in time.

This text should be in the book:  Am nächsten Tag, während Tom mit seinen Bauklötzen spielt, bemerkt er, dass er Pipi machen muss. Tom geht zu seinen Eltern und sagt: "Ich muss Pipi." Seine Eltern holen schnell das Töpfchen und Tom schafft es diesmal rechtzeitig, sein Pipi ins Töpfchen zu machen.

Text: After Tom has had his first wee-wee in the potty, everyone is happy. Mom explains to him that you have to pour the contents of the potty into the toilet. "It's like a little farewell party for your wee-wee before it goes away."

Text: When Tom does this, mom and dad cheer and give him a sticker to put on his reward sheet. Every time he successfully goes to the potty, he now gets a sticker.

Text: Tom finds it so exciting that he always goes to the potty from now on. "I'm no longer a little boy," he shouts proudly. When his reward sheet is full, mom and dad give him a little something as a reward.

Tom goes to the potty

Tom doesn't want to wear a diaper anymore. So Tom tries to go potty on vacation with the help of his parents. Of course, Tom doesn't make it to the potty every time. But mom and dad support and encourage him. It soon works well. After all, the potty is not that difficult.

Tom möchte keine Windel mehr anziehen. Also versucht Tom mit Hilfe seiner Eltern im Urlaub aufs Töpfchen zu gehen. Natürlich schafft es Tom nicht gleich jedes Mal aufs Töpfchen. Aber Mama und Papa unterstützen und ermutigen ihn. Schon bald klappt es gut. So schwer ist die Sache mit dem Töpfchen nämlich gar nicht.
