Where Ever My Granna Is Written by Sam Finch Narrated by Jesse Braylen Brownlee Dedicated to the Children of my Children This is a story of a profound love between a Granna and her babies, as she calls us. We are what’s called, a blended family. My dad, ask my mom{who already had my sisters} to marry him, she said; yes and they had me and my brother. We are large in numbers and even larger with love. Hello! My name is; Braylen These are my siblings; Deshya, Anyiah, Nevaeya and Braxson And, this is my Granna Sam, whom I’ve known since I was born and she’ll remind me of this until my ears are worn. #1 She makes each one of us feel special when she comes, making sure we all have equal time, while having fun. #2 On each of our birthday’s, she comes before or after school, to sing Happy Birthday, which is really cool. #3 But no matter the distance, she’s always consistent from Indiana all the way to Texas. #4 My cousins, Samantha and Eliciana lives in Indiana, receiving the same love that we do from our Granna #5 My other cousin Nyshawn, past away and went to heaven I heard them say, we celebrate every year, by letting balloons go high up in the air. #6 In between her time spent with us, she traveled from the United States to Europe #7 She told us that she went from London to Paris on a train, that traveled under the water, which I thought was strange. #8 Exploring and taking in the sights, while learning their culture and seeing fine arts. #9 In every city, state or country that she’s been, she makes sure to find an aquarium. #10 To record all of the tropical fish there may be and save the footage for all of us too see. #11 It seems that everything that she does, has our best interest at heart. From art projects, throwing the ball and shooting darts. #12 My Granna is amazing to me, cruising the Caribbean, finding beautiful places like Jamaica, Cancun and even Haiti. #13 Bringing back a part of their culture as well, to use for a discussion and take to school for show and tell. #14 My favorite memory that she proclaimed; was cruising on a ship to Barcelona Spain. Then took a tour bus to Florence Italy and boldly hopped on a train. To Rome no doubt, I thought out loud, what an interesting route. #15 To finally return, to share her stories of what she’d learned, bearing gifts that she feels, that we’ve all earned. #16 With all of the memories that we’ve shared of our Granna, we’re hoping that you have some of your own. If not, don’t be blue because we’re thinking of you Just know, that….. Where ever my Granna’s is, she’s got enough love for me and you too. #17 Authors Note First I would like to give honor to God, for he is where I receive my strength My name is Samantha/ GRANNA I’m from a small city in Indiana, where I work, live and love. Through out my time on earth, I’ve found that showing love and doing good by people, has it’s rewards in life. My passion has always been the welfare of children because I know all to well what it’s like to need and not have. I’ve been an advocate for children long before the word advocate was ever incorporated into my vocabulary. I’ve been a foster parent for a number of years, being a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child, some of whom are still in my life today. As for my grandchildren, my children do a very good job of providing what their babies need and want for their well being and for that, I am very proud in knowing that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. But where I come in… is that I have a different set of values to teach them, ones that their parents haven't steered far from but that old-school values that’s coming from me -to -them, so that they may stumble a little less through life, which provides a healthy balance, I believe. The time that I spend with them is valuable you see, tomorrow isn’t promised, so weather I am near or far, I stay in their heads and their hearts, letting them know that they hold a very special part in my heart.
